Neill and Sev Kefford

Having run successfully a string of restaurants and pubs in London, Neill and Sev decided to return to the country after the birth of their first son to open a gastropub in the Wiltshire countryside.

They are both passionate "foodies" with Neill relying on his formal chef training to implement a style in which they both strongly believe, the emphasis being on fresh and seasonal produce as well as the use of local suppliers and organic produce wherever possible.

The Ship Inn at Burcombe is a 17th century village pub with low ceilings, oak beams and a large open fire. In the summer months, the riverside garden is a great place to enjoy a leisurely lunch or dinner in the company of the local ducks.

From June to September, there is a BBQ in the garden on each Tuesday evening, regardless of the weather. But The Ship Inn is also a great destination in winter, made very cosy with its 2 fireplaces and many candles. A local artist's artwork (mixed media collage) is displayed on the walls of the restaurant; see www.dallasdesigns.co.uk

Families are welcomed and there are highchairs, crayons and a children's menu, although smaller portions of the main menu can be provided wherever possible.

Well-behaved dogs are also welcomed, on a lead in the garden and in the bar area by the fireplace.

There is a large car park and easy access to the building through the left entrance of the pub for wheelchairs.
